Care
Aksoy jewelry is meticulously designed and crafted to perfection. To maintain the beauty of your pieces, we suggest wearing your jewelry regularly, gently wiping it with a polishing cloth after each use.
METALS & MATERIALS
-
Precious metals, both gold, and silver, will tarnish in the natural environment. Tarnishing is the result of metals present in the alloy, mostly copper, reacting to the environment, particularly sulfur compounds in the air. Salty air, chlorine, humidity perspiration, cosmetics, bleach, and strong chemicals will accelerate this reaction causing a discoloration of the metal surface.
CARE TIPS
Avoid saltwater and chlorinated water.
Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals.
Minor metal surface abrasion, scratches, and dents can be the result of impact against hard surfaces during normal wear. Having your jewelry professionally cleaned from time to time (annually) will help in keeping your jewelry looking its best.
Clean your jewelry at the first sign of tarnishing by soaking it in warm water and a few drops of mild dish soap. Hand wash with a soft cloth and a soft-bristle brush and rinse under warm water. Dry by patting them with a clean, soft cotton cloth.escription text goes here

Ceramic boasts a hardness that is unlike any traditional metal used in jewelry. It is considered to be scratch proof and will not show signs of wearing, even after years. Ceramic is also unaffected by the ultraviolet rays produced by the sun, meaning that its colors won’t fade. While ceramic and HyCeram are extremely durable and can resist scratches and common damages, due to the molecular structure they are not resistant to shattering.
CARE TIPS
Protect your jewelry from an impact on hard surfaces.
Follow the same cleaning instructions as gold and silver jewelry.scription text goes here

Opaque Gemstones
Opaque gemstones - such as lapis, turquoise, malachite, and opals - tend to be softer, more porous and easily absorb unwanted chemicals and foreign materials in the environment. Dirt and oils can build up and damage the polish or discolor the stone. It is important to properly care for and maintain your gemstone jewelry.
CARE TIPS
Colored stones can chip, scratch and break. Protect your jewelry from an impact on hard surfaces.
Do not wear while doing exercise or yard work.
Do not wear in a swimming pool.
Avoid harsh chemicals including bleach, ammonia, chlorine, and many household cleaning products.
Avoid fragrances, lotions, and cosmetics coming into direct contact with the stone.
Never use an ultrasonic cleaner or steam clean.

Translucent Gemstones
Transparent -to-translucent gemstones, such as blue topaz, citrine, amethyst and iolite can develop a dirty film on the exterior, making them appear dull.
CARE TIPS
Colored stones can chip, scratch and break. Protect your jewelry from an impact on hard surfaces.
Follow the same cleaning instructions as gold and silver jewelry.

Precious metals do wear over time. Aksoy engineers test all pieces to ensure durability. However, when a piece is constantly used, metal fatigue can occur.
CARE TIPS
Check your mechanisms regularly. Make sure that when the clasps and bales are engaged, there is a firm and reliable connection. If you notice fatigue, send the piece in for repair. Cast will build up the metal to ensure security.
Prongs also wear over time. Regularly check that your prongs are adequately securing diamonds and colored stones. If you notice vulnerability, send the piece in for repair. Cast will build up the metal and ensure the stones are set securely.

Colorless zircon is well known for its brilliance and flashes of multicolored light, called fire. These two zircon properties are close enough to the properties of diamond to account for centuries of confusion between the two gems.

Cleaning
Warm, soapy water is recommended for cleaning zircon. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners are not recommended for cleaning this gem.
